ADULTS & COUPLES
Nazifa discovered her passion for counselling through her experience of working with individuals and couples in counselling for a decade. After witnessing the importance of having a healthy and close relationship as a core need for everyone, she specialised her training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and other attachment-informed therapies to acquire the skills needed to help both individuals and couples navigate their differences better in order to create more fulfilling and connected relationships. She finds it particularly rewarding when couples come to their own insights about why they are stuck, and she gently guides them to form new patterns.
Prior to working with couples, Nazifa had over a decade of experience in working with individuals and groups where she used Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy to help them navigate their unique challenges and obstacles. She has always maintained a strong client-centred focus in her work and will accompany the individual in their journey of growth and change. One of Nazifa’s main focuses is to help clients reconnect with their true identities and heal from past trauma.
Coming from a multi-cultural background herself, Nazifa has a strong understanding of the complexities of cross-cultural relationships and cultural transitions. She uses this experience to help clients from diverse backgrounds to resolve some of the tensions that can come from country relocation and cultural integration, as well as cultural differences that can occur in a relationship. Nazifa is a member of PACFA and is continuously improving her knowledge and skills through workshops and webinars. When she is not working with clients or spending time with her family, Nazifa loves travelling, roller skating, bike riding and has recently tried her hand at surfing.
